Activities

For the general well-being of children and adults, regular physical activity promotes a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. A healthy body means a healthy mind!

Sports activities are offered during the week, in the evenings, on the premises of the Lycée Vincent-van-Gogh for 1.5 or 2 hours from September to June. Activities do not take place during school vacations.

These sessions are set up for children from 5th grade, teenagers or parents who cannot practice sports on weekends or for the more athletic who wish to double or even triple their sport sessions or who wish to discover another sports activity.

The activities offered are: Handball, futsal, strength training combined with self-defense, badminton, basketball and basketball 3X3 new Olympic sport.

Futsal and badminton sessions are also open to adults.

Muscle strengthening and self-defense

High-school students and adults:
Mondays 7:30PM-9:00PM
This practice aims at improving the efficiency of muscle chains. Self-defense is an individual discipline that combines various combat techniques to teach teenagers how to defend themselves in case of assault. It is not about knowing how to attack, self-defense is solely geared at defending oneself using one’s environment as a whole.

Handball

High-school students: Mondays 6:00PM-7:30PM
Middle-school students:
thursdays 6:00PM-7:30PM
Handball is a dynamic sport played by hand on a rectangular court, indoors or outdoors. Two teams compete for the ball to score goals in the opponent's goal, defended by a goalkeeper. This sport mainly develops strength, agility, assertiveness and team spirit in children.

Badminton

6th grade to adults: Thursday 7:30PM-9:30PM
and Saturdays 11:30AM-1:30PM
Badminton is a very complete and fun sport played with two or four players on both sides of a net. The objective is to score points by causing the opponent to make mistakes, or by sending the shuttlecock on the opponent's court. This sport mainly develops endurance, agility, coordination, as well as anticipation skills in teenagers.

TENNIS DE TABLE ET VOLLEYBALL

4th grade to adults: Sundays 1:30PM-3:30PM
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams, separated by a net, compete with a ball on a rectangular court.
Table tennis is a racket sport that pits two or four players against each other around a table. These sports mainly develop endurance, agility and coordination of movements.

Futsal

Middle-school students:
Wednesdays & Fridays 6:00PM-7:30PM
High-school students and adults:
Wednesdays & Fridays 7:30PM-9:30PM
Sundays 9:30AM-11:30AM
Futsal is a sport that is similar to soccer. Like soccer, it is played only with feet but on a small field. Two teams compete to score the most goals in the opposing team's goal. This sport mainly develops strength management, mobility, muscular flexibility and team spirit in children.

Taekwendo

5th to 8th grade :
Mondays: 6:00PM - 7:30PM
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that combines combat techniques, spectacular kicks, and physical exercises suitable for children and teenagers. This dynamic discipline develops flexibility, coordination, and strength.

Self-defense

High-school students and adults :
Mondays 7:30PM-9:00PM
Self-defense is an individual discipline that combines combat techniques to teach teenagers how to defend themselves in case of assault. This sport develops defense skills and endurance.

Aïkido

5th to 8th grade :
Thursdays: 6:00PM - 7:30PM
Aikido is a Japanese martial art focused on defense and using the opponent's energy. This gentle and fluid practice is suitable for children and teenagers, emphasizing coordination, concentration, and flexibility.

Basketball

5 th grade and Middle-school students:
Tuesdays 6:00PM- 7:30PM
High-school students:
Tuesdays 7:30PM-9:30PM
Two teams 3X3 or 5X5 on a rectangular court, indoors or one board, with the goal of shooting the ball into the opponent's basket to score points and of preventing the opponent from doing the same. This sport mainly develops the child's strength, agility, dexterity, team spirit and anticipation skills.

Climbing

5th grade to Adultes :
Saturdays : 1:30PM - 3:30PM
Climbing is a sport that allows children and teenagers to climb and explore walls or natural structures. Climbing is an exciting sport that encourages concentration, problem-solving, and perseverance. Additionally, it builds self-confidence and the ability to overcome challenges.
